The Strange Land

The Swamp

· Synopsis	One ordinary morning, the main character is heading to school when a strange man is suddenly flattened by a falling sign. When the startled character removes the sign, the stranger calmly asks, “Are you okay?” The character is startled awake from their dream, but from that moment they continue to be affected by the bizarre events and the stranger’s insistent question. Reality and dreams become mixed and a sense of anxiety builds. The character struggles to escape from the ever deepening nightmare but only sinks deeper into it as if falling through quicksand. Unable to discern dreams from the real world, can they break the chains of the nightmare and escape?

The Tree

· Synopsis	The tree was once my constant companion. It taught me about fishing and gave me shelter from the rain. As I grew older, I gradually drifted away from the tree, but it was always there, waiting for me.

The Walkman

· Synopsis	An old man in his 90s walks into the park inside an apartment complex. Younger elderly men are playing Go in the park, but they won't let the older man join them. The old man can only watch them. When he sits down on a nearby bench, he discovers a Walkman. After a moment's hesitation, he puts the earphones in his ears and presses the reverse play button. Suddenly, the old man starts to move in reverse, and his life and the world move backwards.

The Way

· Synopsis	The protagonist lives in the eastern world where he enjoys happiness and delight. Then he encounters a power, a reality, a competition, and another marvelous world. He enters this new world and finds joy and triumph in the competition. But he fails to keep up and falls into a bottomless pit of despair. Yet he does not give up his good will, which helps him travel to the mysterious and spiritual world of the east. During his journey, he sees a spirit which tells him, “New discoveries take place everywhere. We just don’t know it. Open your eyes, right where you are!” The protagonist opens his eyes and realizes that nothing has changed, but everything is delightful now. He returns to the eastern world of happiness and awakening.

The way back

· Synopsis	In the morning, which snow is melting and flowers are blooming, she is out and heading for working. When she gets her work place, Kang-nam, the time is almost summer and cicadas are singing loudly. she starts distributing flyers to passersby, which is her temporary job.After few times passes by, leave are falling from the trees. she is on her way back home. When she takes off the bus, everything is covered with white snow. And she falls into a sleep with the feelings that doesn't exist anywhere, after the way back.

The window

· Synopsis	When the time comes, children create a window in their chest. Some children make a square window, while others want to create a different shape. But the adults say, "A window is a square". The main character hates making a square window without being allowed to choose a different shape, so he escapes. He is attacked by the adults, but he receives help from someone. When he looks up, he sees the person in the window. "A window is a square." This formula is broken and the main character gains confidence.

Thembi's Diary

· Synopsis	Thembi's Diary is an animation made from a true audio documentary (NPR Radio Diaries). It is recorded by Thembi a South African girl with Aids. Although her disease is harsh for a 17 year old, Thembi talks to her virus every morning. With a calm voice she says that as long as it leaves her alone she will do the same.

· Synopsis	A father named Sangmin has been working and living alone for 3 years. He sends money to his family overseas so his daughter can study abroad. But one day, his company recommends that he resign. Being unaware of this, his wife and daughter ask him to let them stay abroad longer, and allow his daughter to study the violin. In order to avoid his resignation, Sangmin visits the manager who is in hiding and sacrifices himself.
