Synopsis
Having failed in solving the landfill crisis, humanity leaves the Earth to live on Mars. And in one particular abandoned zoo, its animals, who had once received care from their human owners, continued on with their lives, but having forgotten their own sense of identity. In this zoo was one owl incapable of getting along with his fellow animal peers,
Purpose
I believe that ‘The Owl Symphony’ is a film with a tone and form drastically different from those of other films that I have created in the past. I have been fond of owls since childhood, and have always thought to myself, ‘One day I want to create a work with an owl as the protagonist’; I believe that this modest goal has been fulfilled through this opportunity. As many might have experienced during quarantine in the recent years, they may have found human interaction and communication to be more difficult than ever before. In this sense, I hope people will be able to empathize with the awkward antics of an owl who has been forcibly distanced from its neighboring community of animals.
