Synopsis
The protagonist ends a six-year relationship and shares what they felt during that time with their ex-boyfriend. Later, they fall in love through a dating app, but that relationship doesn't last long either. <Six Years and Six Times> is a vlog-style romance story. This film, which collages various sources such as animations and illustrations of different styles, live-action footage, and scenes where the director personally appears, fully reveals the director's tastes. It is an intriguing example of a personal film, capturing the emotions realized through relationships, unforgettable experiences, lingering memories, and dreams of a new future.
Purpose
The story begins at the polar extremes of relationships. On one hand, there are relationships filled with trust built over six years, and on the other, fleeting encounters often found on dating apps. The female protagonist, who was bold and reckless in her pursuit of love in her twenties, finds her approach to love changing as she enters her thirties and begins to build her own life. As a result, what once was an escape becomes a leap forward. She starts to relate to the common notion that meeting people becomes harder with age, even though such sentiments had once hurt her. Ironically, she finds herself becoming one of those "common" people. Yet, she comes to realize that this shift is, in fact, a way of respecting herself.
