Synopsis
Set in the 1930s, the protagonist, a chimney sweep, slips and falls into an unknown realm while attempting to catch a button tossed to him by a thief during his work. In this strange space, he encounters living mannequins who treat him kindly and craft new clothes for him. The outfit, completed with the very button thrown by the thief, seems perfect—until the moment he puts it on. Slowly, his body begins to transform into a wire mannequin.
Purpose
Although visible hierarchies may seem to have disappeared, can we truly claim that class no longer exists in our society? Welfare may offer various benefits to the vulnerable, yet their lives remain restricted by a limited range of options. Through the story of a chimney sweep who defies society's rigid framework but ultimately fails to escape the confines of the lower class, we aim to present a realistic portrayal of society’s harsh realities. The cold, unyielding social structures and stereotypes that uphold class divisions are symbolized by clothes and wire mannequins.
