Synopsis
In a small town, ravenous green snail monsters relentlessly chase Kiwi Hug, determined to devour them. A wild, surreal hunt unfolds—puppet shows, magical transformations, and daring escapes—until fate seals their final, inescapable doom.
Purpose
[Small Town Madness!] is a project inspired by the vibrant and dynamic energy of Kiwi Hug’s music. Taking its cue from the song title, the story revolves around a chaotic chase in a strange little town, with the main imagery centered on a green snail monster—an idea inspired by monster-versus-human battle scenes from late-90s Japanese films.
The work aims to capture a mood that is both playful and grotesque, filled with a sense of chaos. To blur the line between reality and fantasy, I collaborated with live-action director Au Matt, combining live-action footage with CG animation.
Rather than following a strictly logical narrative, ""Small Town Madness!"" seeks to convey a sense of unease and humor within a bizarre and comical world through rhythmic visuals and the collision of contrasting images.
