Synopsis
A single woman goes home to spend a summer holiday with her family. They go to the seaside where they swim and watch fireworks together. Afterwards, she comes back to her lonely house with a vague memory of the summer lingering in her thoughts.
Purpose
After I spend time with my family in my hometown, I return to Seoul and feel lonely. The stillness in my home is awkward, so I furtively turn on the radio. After a night’s sleep, I return to my daily life, but a longing for my hometown remains in a corner of my heart. The trip to Kyeong-Po Dae last summer was our first family trip in a long time, and the first after the youngest baby was born in our family. Although the happy and memorable moments of the trip can turn into longing, they also give me strength to be alone in my daily life.
