Synopsis

The family of cell phones (an old cell phone, a folder phone, and a smart phone) lived together happily in the past, but now each cell phone is living alone. One day, Grandpa called his family because he was sick. However, the son and grandson didn’t have any interest in him, even though the family lived together in the same home for a long time. They only cared about their own desires. It was especially difficult for Grandpa to communicate with his grandson because of the big generation gap. The conflict grew worse and worse until one day Grandpa became angry with the grandson. The grandson yelled and cried because he didn’t understand the old man. The depressed smart phone ran away from home. That was when the charger dog went to him and showed him photos that brought back old memories. The dog made him realize his mistake, so he went back home to apologize to his family. However, Drandpa had already passed away, and his father was crying when he came back. So, he cried on Grandpa’s breast. Afterwards, the father took Grandpa’s gold pig away, but suddenly Grandpa woke up and kicked the father away.

Purpose

The generation gap in our society is like the evolution from an old cell phone to a folder phone and then to a smart phone. My story represents the situation of a New Years or family event. The old man wants to communicate with his family, but the parents argue about how to divide or share their inheritance. Also, the children just spend their time staring at their smart phones. I wanted to express this situation using third generation cell phone characters.
