The Cavity

Synopsis
An old woman lives on the rooftop of a house. Whenever she loses her appetite or feels bored with life, she eats candy. Her oldest son comes to visit whenever he wants, just to leave his laundry. When he causes trouble, the old woman suffers as if her cavity is getting worse. When her real cavity starts to cause pain, she decides to pull out the rotten tooth. She doesn’t hear from her son for a while and thinks that she can finally have some peace and quiet. But after a while she goes back to eating her candy, craving the sweet taste. The moral of this story is that one’s daily habits reflect one’s life. The characters include a woman from a hair salon who is in love with the old woman’s son and is pregnant with his child. But the son has no intentions of staying with her. He gets his daily pay and hires a prostitute.
Purpose
To Grandmother, her son is like candy. The more she likes ith and looks for it, the more cavity and pain it leaves.
