This work is my first one about family and an aborted fetus. I have two aborted siblings who got aborted before they were screened for gender, so I don’t know if they were my sisters or brothers. After the two abortions, my two elder sisters and I were born. In a way, we were born instead of the two aborted siblings. However, I did not really have any feelings for them before I started this work.

In Asterios Polyp, the writer mentions that aborted siblings are shadow brothers. The words evoked a new sense in me regarding the aborted siblings. They were always with me and did not disappear. They might have merely become members of a different world.

If they became a member of the world of stillborn babies, I believe that they share their terminated possibilities. They might hear an endless repeating measure of prenatal music. I imagine an indeterminate form made up of various animals’ embryos which is not fixed as a particular form. It would change and move ceaselessly. It realizes its possibility to be reborn as any existence.

This film, therefore, has been produced as a way of remembering my aborted siblings. I started this work in the context of admiring their spirit in each picture I drew. While I drew pictures one by one, the work led me to confront the existence of those who got aborted, who departed this life before they were born. It is beyond my individual mourning. It is a kind of monument.
