Synopsis
On November 17, 1905, the Korean Empire was forced by the Japanese government to sign the Eulsa Treaty, also known as the Japan-Korea Protectorate Treaty. Princess Deok-Hye, Gojong’s youngest daughter, was forced to become a hostage in Japan at the age of 12. She returned to Korea after many years, at the age of 77, diagnosed with multiple psychological disorders including a severe case of schizophrenia and sleepwalking.
Purpose
No light was cast on the memory of that day...
Princess Deok-Hye, the last princess of the Korean Empire, died at the age of 77. Shortly before her death, she lucidly recalls the events of March 3, 1919, and recounts the story of that day in this musical animation.
