Synopsis
"Welcome to our hometown." When I was 12 years old, I left Korea and arrived in America where I have lived for 11 years. For me, Korea is a nostalgic and yet strange place. The school field, kids exercising to music, the sound of the school bell, the crowded windows of apartment buildings, the slow country roads, the tacky neon street signs at night. I created a collage of nostalgic images after searching through my faint memories.
Purpose
I collaged together many different images to give a familiar yet disparate feeling. Similarly, I combined realistic sounds with highly exaggerated ones. Rather than searching for the meaning in each scene, I hope the audience will appreciate and enjoy the overall mood and colors of the film.
