Synopsis
A massive nuclear blast has rendered the surface of the world inhospitable to human beings. At the start of a new year, one man has taken on the job of clearing out monsters on the surface. While returning to base after his first solo mission, he stumbled upon a green island where no monsters reside. The island is full of scarecrows among which one surviving person is discovered. The man begins to change as he forms a bond with the lone survivor on the island.
Purpose
Humans do not cope well with solitude. In this sci-fi animation based on the true story of the “Japanese Scarecrow Town,” the human desire to escape loneliness is the main theme. I wanted to show how the main character evolved over time in a dystopian world in which very little humanity remained.
