Synopsis
During the Korean war a child gets separated from her mother. For the girl left on her own the only thing that matters is survival. She has no reason to go searching for the traces of her past as they no longer hold meaning for her. Her only concern is to face her future and carry on living.
Purpose
The Music Box tells the story of a refugee girl caught up in the devastation of the Korean War in the 1950's. The film focuses on portraying the direct danger experienced by the main character as well as the tension generally present in war films while also depicting this critical period in Korean history. The Music Box places the main character at the center of the conflict and presents greed as a part of human nature through the depiction of our destructive and competitive instincts.
