Synopsis
In the far, far future, an astronaut was forced to land on some unknown planet, after his long exploration through space. Even he hasn’t prepared for such emergency, he consistently tries to communicate to planet earth. Which didn’t work out cause his device was unable to reach them. Time passes by, and he becomes more and more anxious that he sees illusions as chances seem to run out.
Purpose
Anyone can experience partings. Which also seems like one of the asteroids around earth. ‘Distance of star’ shows longings and regrets to his former lover through an astronaut colliding on some unknown planet. In the animation, planet earth means ‘lover’, and we tried to direct the irretrievable reality that he can’t get back to his lover even though he wants to. Also, we directed with contrasts of the colors to express ‘the feels when breakups’, and depressed colors to show that ends of the relationship is ‘dull, even with colors’.
