Born in 1998 in Seoul, Choi Yeoleum entered Chung-Ang University in 2017, where she studied Theater and Film Arts as well as Game Design. After graduating in 2021, she enrolled in the graduate program for Digital Animation and Interactive Media at The Ohio State University in 2024. She is an animation director dedicated to creating impactful animations that address social issues.
Among her various short films, The Isle of Trashes gained significant attention for its focus on environmental sustainability, particularly for using real garbage to create its sets and props. This project has been embraced by schools and environmental organizations and has received awards at several international film festivals.
Yeoleum also has professional experience in illustration, teaching, and narrative design, and she has a deep interest in animal rights and environmental issues. She is currently expanding her creative work into the field of VR animation and interactive media.
