Biography
  • Kim Dojin was born in 2001 in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and grew up there until completing his university studies.
    During his middle school years, Kim spent time with friends who came from underprivileged backgrounds, witnessing various family issues and delinquent behaviors among youth. It wasn’t until he entered Korea Digital Media High School that he first encountered peers from more affluent backgrounds. From hairstyles and clothing to belongings, vocabulary, financial literacy, and mindset, everything was different — and through these contrasting relationships, Kim came to deeply experience the divide between wealth and poverty.
    Naturally, this led him to take a keen interest in societal and structural issues, experiences that profoundly shaped his artistic perspective and ultimately influenced the themes explored in [Where the Rain Stops].
    As a child, Kim was deeply inspired after playing the game Super Mario Galaxy, which sparked his dream of becoming a game creator. To pursue this passion, he taught himself various skills essential to game development, including drawing, animation, and coding.
    He later enrolled at Seoul Institute of the Arts, majoring in Digital Art. There, he discovered his aptitude for working as a 3D rigging artist, which set him on the path of creating 3D animation in earnest.
    This journey culminated in the production of Where the Rain Stops as his graduation project, created using 3D computer graphics.
